Yup, it's the flu. Andrew stayed home from work to care for Sadie and me. Sadie's trip to the doctor revealed our suspicion that she has the flu. So I'm quite sure I have it as well. Her temperature has fluctuated between 100 and 103 most of the day - an improvement from the 104.4 over the weekend. I'm suffering with a 101 fever and possible case of mastitis. Andrew is on a downward trend, but Parker hangs on as the healthiest one in the house.
Those are the "two" words I hear most often coming from Sadie these days, particularly now that Parker has joined the family. A close second to those is "take it". I'd love to summarize the last year or so since last I wrote, but I simply don't have the energy. Sadie caught a nasty cold last week and I seem to be battling it as best I can - not an easy task given the high maintenance toddler and the breastfeeding schedule Parker demands. Today Sadie woke up congested to the point of vomiting. She still won't eat very much. But, no fever in sight. While I was on the phone with the pediatrician to find out what I could do for her congestion, Inna came running upstairs with a redfaced-crying Sadie in arms. Apparently the Oxiclean fell off the shelf and into Sadie's eyes. We spent the next 15 minutes wrestling with her in the tub to flush her eyes. I don't think she's suffered any permanent damage to her vision, but I doubt she'll ever let me give her a bath again.
